DUNEDIN PART ONE

On Friday morning I had the pleasure of meeting Peter Chin the current Mayor of Dunedin since 2004. Being the Mayor and all he has quite a busy schedule and only had a short amount of time to meet with us. His must see recommendations for Dunedin consisted of the Cadbury Factory tour, Tieri Gorge Train Trip, The Chinese Gardens, The Otago Museum, The Art Gallery, Natures Wonders tour and much, much more. Did he not realise we were only in Dunedin for TWO NIGHTS?! I think we managed to get through 3/4s of his list of attractions and even managed to squeeze in sleep as well ☺

Meeting the Mayor

What happen next was so exciting I couldn’t believe it was actually happening! After he looked at his watch and hinted at having to leave, he asked if there was anything else we would like to ask him. All I did was ask about preparations for the Rugby World Cup and before I knew it we were having a guided tour through a construction site that will eventually be the host stadium for the Rugby World Cup. Dressed in hard hats, fluoro orange vests and gum boots the group consisted of Mayor Chin, Minister of local Government Rodney Hide, the Architecture and Executive Chief for the construction of the Stadium and a few other V.I.P. What an amazing morning!
